Programme Support Manager for YONECO, Hughes Tawanda Munthali presented a newly introduced project called ‘Connect Malawi Plus: Action for Adolescent Girls and Young Women’ before Lilongwe District Health Management Team (DHMT) that was led by Senior Medical Officer, Dr. Thokozani Liwewe.
The three-year project, which will be implemented in Lilongwe with financial support from ViiV Healthcare, seeks to provide biomedical, behavioral and structural interventions to targeted group of 2, 250 adolescent girls and young women, 30 health providers and 30 peer mobilisers. In her remarks, Dr. Liwewe requested for Youth Corner infrastructure at Bwaila District Hospital citing that it is the only health facility that does not have one in the proposed target areas.
